At first glance, it would be easy to mistake Karyn Oliver for something your parents would love. She isn't that simple. A country based artist, there is a hint Janis Joplin in her voice and her arrangements reveal influences from both rock and jazz. She gets a little saucy in "Right Now" which includes the line "you kind of smell like sin". This album would make a lovely backdrop to sipping wine and cooking with friends.
