Even when ska was cool, ska kids patronizing the Moon Ska store in Greenwich Village weren't that into Ruder Than You. The eclectic Philly fivesome never really found a place alongside the biggest indie ska acts like The Toasters, nor could fans of The Mighty Mighty Bosstones make the pie-chart crossover. Their 20th anniversary record Creation Sounds exists within the ska-funk-reggae blandness they've always owned. After all these years, Ruder Than You still sound too much like themselves.
