Scouting the Boneyard is a solid mixture of old and new school metal, with clear lyrics both shrieked and growled, plus heavy riffs that compliment. There is a minor technical issue SOA will hopefully address before the next album (and there had better be another one): the vocals and riffs carry, but the band occasionally gets ahead of itself with timing.
