Brother HijinXBrother HijunXBy Jessica Selby
Brooklyn's Brother HijinX makes funk more than just bearable with their self-titled debut. The tracks are mostly a pure, danceable funk with dashes of other genres, from the reggae flavor in "Watchin' the Detectives", to the riff reminiscent of a Breaking Benjamin song in "Laughing Academy". Topped off with vocals of a Citizen Cope-Lenny Kravitz hybrid, this album is one to likely appeal to anyone who appreciates great music.
