NotAt its best, the debut full-length from Aussie trio Tame Impala evokes the cozy-yet-far-out early psychedelia of the Beatles' "Rain" - due in part to singer/guitarist Kevin Parker's effects-laden croon sounding uncannily like a Lennon/Harrison vocal blend. Their style is a little on-the-nose, but the songwriting on Innerspeaker is too solid to dismiss these kids as just another crew of Nuggets-lovers.
