A self described "rock/funk trio", Bad Apple's Today Begins at Night has a mellow 70's funk sound that works throughout the album. Their horns/bass /drum mix is not unique but their ability to make original music in an "older" style and keep it fresh makes it worth a listen. Be careful, there are a ton of bands with similar names.
